Married 24 Oct 1889 Rheden to: Joseph van Dijk, birth 29 Jun 1857 Alem, died 24 FebR 1934 Zutphen, buried Zutphen, section 4, row 12, plot 4, son of Izaak van Dijk and Elizabeth (Sara Perle) van Leeuwen They lived in Oss, Molenstraat 40 untill 1926 (?), at which time they moved to live with their daughter Elisabeth and son-in-law Emanuel in Zutphen. He had a retail business dealing in drygoods, and was an antique collector, starting by bartering in his early years. The building at the Molenstraat in Oss had two residences attached, one for himself, and one for his son Isidor. This building was the original office building of the Unilever concern. During WW2 the building was 'sold' to an accountant de Bruin , and it took close to ten years for the deed to be restored to the 'undivided estate of Jozef van Dijk'. When this was finally accomplished, the property was sold. |
