D.E. Cohen: Mietje was born 4 Tamus 5476 (1716), her husband had died a year before her second marriage. She had a daughter Hanna from her first marriage, who later married Isaac Samuel van Cleeff.
Her father was Abraham son of Elkana Levy who was the son of Samuel Levy (Segal). Abraham Levy, who called himself de Jongh, settled in The Hague and married Abigael Boas, daughter of Hyman (Abraham) Boas and Marya Tobyas. He traded in cotton an d linen.
Notes in the Cohens old family booklet: "Died my (Godert Ezechiel) father in law Aberle Halevie son of Elkana Halevie Sunday 12 Tamus 5535 (10 July 1775)". D.E. Cohen comments that this complies with the inscription on the gravestone of the actin g chief rabbi (1735-1738).
In the same booklet the death of Goderts mother in law "Abigael daughter of Chaium Haak (=Boas) Friday 25 or 14 Tamus 5489" In Chaium Boas' testament 6 Aug 1743 besides his other children Tobias, Hanna, Sara and Sybille he mentions Abigael bein g married to Abraham Levy de Jonge.
