8) Elisabeth de Salomon VAZ DIAS, birth 20 Sep 1884 Amsterdam, Nederland, died 28 Nov 1984
Married ± 1906 Of Amsterdam, Nord Holland, NETHERLANDS to: Justus LISSAUER, birth ± 1881 Amsterdam, Noord Holland BIOGRAPHY: Justus Lissauer Source: http://www.lissauer.web-log.nl/ The noise of the night in the city was echoing. Everywhere sounded ominous sounds. Short, rigid commands, car doors and thumping of many soldier's boots was heard. It was quiet for a moment, then the sounds surfaced again and always seemed to com e closer. Justus watched the shadow beside him in the corner. Despite the Eclipse was her nose well distinguishable. Her warm breath was showing as factory smoke against the dark background. They dared not to whisper. Knock, knock-knock sounded ge ntly on the door. As the world was silent, Justus pushed Elisabeth forward. Without hesitation he gave her a kiss and opened the door. "Quiet" sounded from the mouth of a young man. He grabbed Justus at the arm and pulled him to the right in the street. He felt how Elisabeth, by another shadow was pulled away from him. The street that seemed so familiar was now an ominous, strang e place. Justus followed the figure that held his sleeve tight and without hesitation seemed to know where he was moving. The steely sounds of the raids faded into the background. He would see Elisabeth in a few days when they had reached their de stination. Without any noise, they moved down the narrow alley. "Mitkommen" ('Come along') suddenly echoed in the night. Before he knew what was happening, they were surrounded by four men. Further away, there stood two foot soldiers, their helmets silhouetting as deadly tidings in the night sky. Justus Lissauer was transported to Auschwitz and gassed. Elisabeth was rescued by the resistance. Even stond de wereld stil. Justus duwde Elisabeth vooruit.
