Limburg). That same year, he married Henriette Fuldauer (b. 12.4.1888), also originally from Germany. In August 1942, the Falkensteins, now with their infant son Emil-Hans, who was born in September 1941, were expecting orders to report at the local railway station, as a first step to leave for æwork in the East&Aelig;. Not waiting for the day to arrive , they packed up and left for Henriette&Aelig;s parents in Amsterdam. Some days later, on August 25, 1942, the Dutch police came to the Falkenstein home, intending to arrest them but no one was there. The Falkensteins were able to locate hiding places for themselves as well as another one for their son Emil-Hans. At the beginning of 1943, Emil-Hans was taken to Henk and Mimi Meinema in the city, a childless couple in their thirties. Henk wa s a window dresser. They lived in a blue-collar neighborhood on the second floor of an apartment building, with neighbors all around. Taking in a Jewish child involved a big personal risk. The sudden appearance of a toddler was luckily not questio ned by the neighbors. Henk and Mimi accepted the boy with much love. As Emil-Hans&Aelig; name sounded too German, they called him Eddy. Eddy in turn called Henk and Mimi Meinema, æmama&Aelig; and æpapa&Aelig; and considered them his own parents. It was arranged wit h Eddy&Aelig;s real parents, who were in hiding close-by, that they could visit, but only when the curtains in the Meinemas&Aelig; apartment were not drawn open. Once during such a planned visit, they were arrested and immediately deported to Sobibor, wher e they were murdered in July 1943. Eddy stayed on with the Meinemas until the liberation in May 1945. After the war, the Meinemas were ready to adopt Eddy, but a surviving aunt and uncle asked to raise him. The separation from the Meinemas was an extremely traumatic experience for Eddy. He missed them tremendously and could not get used to the ne w environment with his aunt and uncle. He was subsequently sent to an orphanage and contact with the Meinemas was lost. At the age of 20, however, Eddy returned to live with the Meinemas and then kept in close contact with them until their deaths. On October 26, 2008, Yad Vashem recognized Henk Meinema and Mimi Meinema-Wrunch as Righteous Among the Nations. http://www.steinheim-institut.de/cgi-bin/epidat?sel=e19&function=Ins&jahrv=1912 1883 wurde Salomons Sohn Hermann geboren, der wie seine Brčuder als Soldat im Ersten Weltkrieg diente.
