Notarial Archives 10444/21674 and 10448/1127) in association with his brother Garcon/Garson, the couple moves subsequently to Emden, wher
e Michiel seems to have died.
On the civil marriage act at 2nd marriage of Mietje Moses, his widow, to her uncle Isaac Daniels in 1758, it is stated, that she paid her dues to the Weeskamer in Emden. This implies, that the couple lived for an extended period in Emden; howeve r nothing could be found in the archives of Emden. Married 15 Nov 1743 Amsterdam, dtb 727/35; groom widower of Ester Casten Levie; bride widow of Abraham de Vries. In the marriage conditions made up before notary Salomon Dorper, the usual financial agreements concerning groom & bride are registered. 'Moreover, the groom takes it upon him to instruct, oversee and raise the children of his incumbent bride, nam ed: Levij, Garson & Sara'. The paternal grandmother of these children, Gruytje[?] Josephs, widow of Dr. Casparus de Vries is also mentioned. (G.A.A. Elias Norden and Abraham Fles. According to the will of dr. Abraham de Vries, passed before notary Barels on 3 Jul 1737, both gentlemen were appointed as guardians over the 3 children of the couple. The gentlemen declare, 'that all valuables coming to the children are under the ir hands, and that the widow de Vries-Fles has not the least valuable under her power, direction or administration'.
