Event: event Jul 1734 acquiring seats in the synagogue of Amsterdam A seat in the men's section in the fourth row, north eastern direction second seat between Itsak Shtura and Chaim Lubiner, acquisited by the late pum Menamem Manes ben Itsak Kijser in Elul 5459 and transfered as a gift to his son Samuel on 29 Shev at 5470, is now sold at public auction, because Samuel Kijser got in financial distress and took off, and became a fugitive and his belongings came into the hands of the civil authorities 'de desolate boedelskamer', who authorised aluf khr"r Lei b ben late pu khr"r Gumprich z.l. as their representative to publicly auction this seat in the great synagogue; and after 3 public announcements for contenders on rights of this seat to come forward,and nobody came forward, and in attendance of pa rnassim and trustees the seat is now sold on 10 Tammuz 5494 to aluf Abraham Rofe for the amount of fl. 428,-, and registered on the buyer's folio; and the payment was received by mr. Leib, representative of the civil authorities. A seat in the men's section of the great synagogue on the 3rd bench tothe south, the third place between R' Leib Hamburger and Ziskint R'Berent, which was formerly bought by the late pum Menachem Manes benIsaac Kijser, one of the parnassim of ou r communtiy on 26 Shevat 5433[Feb 1673] and after the death of the late pum Menachem Manes Kijseraforementioned, all his sons inheritors sold this seat to theirbrother Samuel ben late pum Menachem Manes Kijser by means of an actof transactio n on 5 Ijar 5482 [Jun 1722] as is registered in the newprotocoll, folio 592; and as now mr. Samuel Kijser is in economicdistress etc, the seat is sold to aluf Abraham Rofe m.h.l. for theamount of fl. 830,-, and the trustees now have rgistered thi s seat onmr. Abraham Rofe's folio, and hr"r Leib [ben pu hr"r Gumprich z.l,caretaker for the civil authorities] has obtained the full price forthis seat. |
