Gunther Ludwig Zilversmit, birth 5 Jul 1926 Leer, Germany, died 17 Jun 1987 Montreal, Canada, Jewish Hen. Hosp., death cause: Colon Rectal cancer., buried 18 Jun 1987 Eternal Gardens ,Beaconsfield, Que., son of Karl Zilversmit and Henriette Lion
Gus wrote his memoirs ca. 1985 at the insistence of our daughter Ruth.There was an urgency as
he was diagnosed with Colon-Rectal Cancer in 1980, shortly after we movedto Dollard des Ormeaux, Montreal, Que.
Of course we had no medical history of his parents as they were victimsof the holocaust. Gus battled his cancer for almost 7 years. And passedaway June 17, 1887 with our Ruth by his bedside. In Holland he was knownas Guus. Coming to Canada Gunthe r was known as
Gus.
