Anna van Dijk, birth 24 Feb 1905 Amsterdam, died 14 Jan 1948 Weesperkaspel, daughter of Aron van Dijk and Kaatje Blik She was the only woman who was sentenced after WW2 to be executed for betraying more than 100 Jews to the SD in 1943. She had been arrested and did so while imprisoned. She was a difficult child and starting from her fifth year was under constant care of a pediatrician. she owned a hat store in Amsterdam at the Nieuwendijk untill the Nazi government closed the business. On Easterday 1943 she was arrested by th e SD detective Pieter Schaaap of the Jewish Department of the Amsterdam police and was released after she had agreed to work for the S . She pretended to work for the illegality, could provide hiding addresses and false id papers. Her address acte d as a trap, where many of her victims were arrested, among whom her own brother and his family. Only a few of them survived the camps. She was arrested on 20 June 1945 in the home of Miep de Regt in Rotterdam, her case was heard on 24 February 1947 in Amsterdam at the Special Court for the betrayal of about 700 people who were hiding, even though she admitted to have been a psyc hiatric patient. On 27 September 1947 the Special Appeals Court confirmed her sentence, het request for pardon was refused. She was executed on 13 January 1948 in Fort Bijlmer in the then municipality Wesperkaspel (now Bijlmermeer, municipality Am sterdam). She was baptised a Roman Catholic the evening before her execution.
