PIETER STAPEL, van Sijbekarspel, trouwt als jm. voor Schepenen te Sijbekarspel op 3-6-1725 (inschrijving te Abbekerk, impost f 3,-- op 17-5-1725) met Dieuwertje Jans Verwer, van Twisk, jd. Kinderen uit dit huwelijk: Gerrit Pieters, geb. Sijbekarspel omstreeks 1725, gedoopt Geref., oud 29½ jaar, te Sijbekarspel 2-2-1755. Getrouwd Sijbekarspel 1750 met Ariaantje Buis, zie II. Jacob, geb. omstreeks 1727, gedoopt Benningbroek Geref. 10-2-1729 (na belijdenis, oud omstreeks 22 jaar). Lijsbeth. I.b. PIETER STAPEL (zie boven) hertrouwt (voor Schepenen) te Sijbekarspel op 1-1-1736 met Trijntje Cornelis Purmer, van Aartswoud, jd.; zij hertrouwt omstreeks 1766Àmet Pieter Vreeks. Kinderen uit dit huwelijk: Cornelis, getrouwd Sijbekarspel 1767 met Luyduw Jans Hoek, le x Geertje Maartje Toelichting Uit verschillende gegevens blijkt dat Pieter Stapel doopsgezind was. Hij is tussen 1736 en 1749 overleden; de huwelijkse voorwaarden dateren van 18-5-1725, de acte van scheiding van zijn tweede huwelijk van 29-1-1749. Zijn ouders waren Gerrit Claa sz. Stapel en Maartje Claas van Barsingerhorn; deze waren voor Schepenen te Sijbekarspel getrouwd op 12-1-1686; behalve Pieter zijn van hen nog twee zoons bekend. Van het tweede huwelijk van Pieter Stapel gaf de tweede echtgenoot van Trijntje Corn elisPurmer, Pieter Vreeks, op 15-4-1766 verantwoording van voogdij aan Gerrit Pieters Stapel (zoon uit 1e huwelijk, getrouwd met Adriaantje Buis), waaruit tevens blijkt dat in het tweede huwelijk drie met name genoemde kinderen zijn geboren. Ho e onvolkomen ook, toch zijn deze gegevens van belang. In het "rode boekje" wordt gezegd dat allen, die in Noordholland de naam Stapel voeren, afstammelingen zijn van Gerrit Stapel en Ariaantje Buis; dit is, blijkens genoemde gegevens, niet juist . Merkwaardig is de mededeling in dit boekje dat de daar genoemde stamvader, als "Buis-Stapel" wordt aangeduid. Ook dit wijst erop dat er, in dezelfde familie, nog meer Stapel's zouden zijn. Zowel de broers van Gerrit Stapel als zijn ooms Stapel , waarvan vrijwel niets bekend is, kunnen nakomelingen hebben gehad. De groep Stapel te Winkel, die ook reeds omstreeks 1750 daar woonde, kan hieraan verwant zijn.
