After the war was over Mau Schaapdiscovered her name on a list of survivors. He informed her brothers whofound her in bad shape suffering from tuberculosis in a hospital inEastern Europe. They brought her bac k to Holland were she recovered forseveral years in a sanitorium. After that she lived for a while with MauSchaap and Bep Bedak in Scheveningen. In the fifties she moved in withher sister Manny and brother Levie in an appartemnt in Rotterdam. Late ron she lived by herself in an appartment. Finally she moved into theRotterdam Jewish old age home were she passed away. to: Emanuel Menachem Salomon Schaap, birth 11 Nov 1898 Sneek, 27 Cheshvan 5659, died 12 Feb 1945 Mauthausen, 29 Shevat, 5705, occupation: Worked in the milk and butter business of his father, son of Salomon Eljakiem Schaap and Naatje Henna Channa Keizer Was in hiding on a farm in Friesland. Because he could not sit still, heworked the land together with the family of the farmer. He was betrayedand captured by the Nazis together with his wife Froukje. |
