Married 1870 Marijampole, Lithuania to: Moshe Nissim Smolizanski, birth 7 Feb 1849 Kalvarija, Lithuania, died 24 Jul 1894 Rishon LeZion, Israel, son of Mordechai Zvi Smolizanski and Rachel Gedalia Rosengold Moshe Nissim came to Palestine in 1884 with his six children, and boughta large plot of land in the newly established agricultural settlement of RishonLeZion. His parents Mordechai & Rachel came a few years later together with his sister Bertha and brother Yaakov. Moshe died in Rishon LeZion in 1894. When his son Bernard died in Paris in 1953 his grandson Roger discovered the land that Moshe Nissim still owned in Rishon LeZion. The grandchildren then sold the land after a long process in 1961 for 200,000 French Francs so it must have been a really big plot! |
