1) Gustav Gabriel Schiff, birth Deutchkreutz, Austria-Hungary, died 1893 Deutchkreutz, Austria-Hungary Gustav SCHIFF was the son of Benjamin SCHIFF (1788-1848), the son of Jacob SCHIFF from Schleinink near Rechnitz and Nachar. Jacob's wife Nucho was the daughter of Salomon EISENSTADT son of Rabbi Benjamin EISENSTADT (d. 1770), the Rabbi of Lakenbac h and the son of Rabbi Meir EISENSTADT (b. 1670, d. 1744 Eisenstadt), the MaHaRaM, son of Isaac, and of Finkel, the daughter of Moses SOCHACZEWER. Rabbi Meir ben Isaac (his name appears in the Encyclopaedia Judaica) was the son of Isaac (the so n in-law or the brother in-law of R. Shabbetai b. Benjamin Wolf Meir COHEN - Schach 1621-1663 Rabbi of Villna). Isaac's wife was the sister or the daughter of Rabbi Shabbetai ben Meir COHEN Benjamin WOLF (Schach), the ancestor of Paula (LIPSCHITZ ) SCHIFF, Edmund SCHIFF's mother. Benjamin Wolf Meir COHEN (Rosh Hakohl Villna) was the son of Rabbi Israel Bainisch Meisels from Pinsk, the son of Dresel and of Simcha Bunim Krakow 1625. Dresel was the daughter of Rabbi Moses Isserles (1510-1571 ) REMO, the Rabbi of Krakow, famous codifier of Jewish law. He was the son of Rabbi Israel Isserles (the son of R. Jossef d. 1540) and of Malka Schrenzel LURIA. Malka was the daughter of Lipman Elieser Schrenzel (d. 1558) and of Dresel LURIA, th e daughter of Rabbi Jechiel LURIA, the Rabbi of Brzesc, Litowsk (d. 1470). He was an ancestor of Moses SCHIFF and of his wife Paula LIPSCHITZ, Edmund SCHIFF's parents.
