She also remembers going to his 90th birthday party in 1942 and his daughter, Phoebe, visiting her parents (my grandp arents) several times. Maurice Duparc worked for the London Jewish Chronicle as, I understand, a sub-editor under his brother-in-law, Asher Myers, the editor. Both the mother of Henry Best and her father (his grandfather) worked for the Jewish Chronicle, as his father. ( Jewish Chronicle of London May 21, 1915 ) Henry Best from London is related to Mauritz (Morris or Maurice) Duparc`s wife, Esther Meyers (or Myers). She was his great grandmother's cousin. The mother of Henry Best (aged 96 in 2008) remembers working with Mauritz's son, Simon Duparc, at th e Jewish Chronicle in London in the 1930s.
