Upon graduation from high school, Werner Weinberg continued his education at the Israelitische Lehrerbildungsanstalt, Wčurzburg where he received a certificate for teaching at public and religious schools. In 1939 Weinberg&Aelig;s family was forced to immigrate to Holland. They were interned at the Westerbrock Camp in 1943, before being deported to Bergen-Belsen in 1944. In 1948 Werner Weinber along with his wife, Lisl and their daughter Susie moved to th e United States. In the United States Weinberg continued his education and in 1961 he received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He began his teaching career there at the same year. Werner Weinberg wrote a number of books about the Holocaust as well as on Hebrew orthography and literature.
