1) Abraham Henoch Strum, alias: Adolf, Adi, birth 27 Sep 1921 Lemberg, Polen (nu Oekraine), died 30 Apr 1943 Auschwitz, Polen, occupation: Landbouwer Palestinapionier Documentatie: https://www.joodsmonument.nl/nl/page/121399/abraham-henoch-strum "Abraham Henoch Strum werkte als stoker in het Apeldoornse Bos, waar hij op 1 september 1942 in dienst was getreden. Gemeentearchief Apeldoorn, personeelslijst van het Apeldoornsche Bosch" Jeanette Ms. Nemon-Fischman: "Adolf's backround & legacy is very well known to us, his Strum family. He was born in Lvov to his mother, Salla Brand-Strum & his father, Avram Henoch Strum who died before his birth (he was named for him). Salla was a daughter of an influential & very intellectual family. His father was the oldest Strum child of nine Strum Children born to Malia Bauman & Hersh-Leib Strum, a prominant Matzah & bread baker (b.Ulanov) in Lvov, & later Vienna: Adolf, Fr ieda, Hinge, Golda, Saul, Camshew, Lola, Mina, & Ignatz/"Teddy". Adolf's Aunt, Hinge/Helen Hilsenrad, wrote a biography of the Strum Family during the Nazi Years titled, "Brown Was the Danube". Adi was much loved by the family & had characteristic Strum looks of high forehead & large, light-blue eyes. Tragically, Adi chose to follow a girlfriend to Holland as a young man during the Nazi Occupation. We did know Adi was killed by the Nazis, but as a result of this site, we now know much more. We do have a few other photos of Adi & his family. My father, Norbert Nemon, is the son of Frieda Strum-Nemon who was the sister of Adi's father. He is Adi's first-cousin. Adi was a fun-loving and adventurous cousin remembered fondly by his cousins, Norbert, Johnny, & Bella Nemon, & his Topf, Bauman, Hilsenrad, Landau, & Strum Cousins who honor his legacy today with a cherished place on our extensive Strum Family Tr ee." |
