Event: event Jul 1696 Amsterdam On 13 Tammuz 5456 appears before the trustees of the jewish community of Amsterdam the couple Tsipora bat David and spouse Abraham ben hr"r Zwi and sell to Ephraim bar Moshe their part of 2 seats in the great synagogue for the amount of 100 R"T [f l. 250,-]. Their part of the seats came to them as inheritance from the late widow Hendel bat Isaac, as specified in her will, and who in her turn obtained the seats as part of her ketuba. The act is signed by Elieser ben mhr"r Eli' Komt[should be Kotnum]z.l. from k"k Vrankvurt, cantor in k"k Amstelredam, Ze'ev Wolf ben Chaim Segal z.l., cantor in k"k Amstelredam. In an additional act the members of the Beth-Din of Amsterdam approve of the transaction made above, especially as it seems to take care of the rights of the 2 small brothers of Abraham ben hr"r Zwi and as it was done in attendance of their fathe r hr"r Zwi; in any case they forbid Ephraim bar Moshe to do any transactions on these seats, during the first year from signing this act, for the eventuality that other inheritors might still show up; signed by Moshe Juda hakohen, staying here in Amsterdam in the Ashkenazi community, Isaac son of the holy hr"r Shlomo z.l. from Zamesht, and Ze'ev Wolf ben hr"r Samuel z.l. from Jereslaw.
