'my esteemed friend, the pleasant singer of the songs of Israel, the cantor kvod harav Samuel, son of the late kvod harav Jokeb Blog z.l, who died on the eve of Monday, 5 Nissan 597 in limited counting, 10 April 1837, and at his demise all joy wa s mixed[?], [this happened] eight days after the marriage of his daughter Perleche m.sh.l; at that time all his sons and daughters were sick too, his eldest son Shu"B[the ritual slaughterer] in Zaandam, Raphael m.h.l, his son Moshe-Leib and the la tter's brother Jokeb, and their sister the bride Chaya Daya m.sh.l. and mrs. Perlecha aforementioned, they are all in good health now, and their father went up to serve above, may he be an advocate [for us here beneath].
And his modest spouse mrs.
