Salomon VAN LEER, birth 14 May 1823 GORREDIJK, died 1898 BALTIMORE, son of Mozes Abraham Zadoks VAN LEER and Saartje Salomons STIBBE 1854, imigrated to Baltimore. Helped found Ohel Shalom Congregation. Worked with the Hebrew Hospital, the orphan asylum and the free burial society in Baltimore. Earned a reputarion as "one of the most widely known and benevolent gentleman in the city" of Baltimore. Was in the wholesale clothing till 1893 with Henry Sonneborn & Co. to: NN NN |
