Marian Drielsma, birth ± 1851 Friesland
In 1881 Census birthplace "Frinland, Holland". Her marriage certificate is needed to confirm the name of her father, and with that her birth.
Probably she is Marianne, daughter of Adam Jonas Drielsma and Caroline van Gelder, and born 28 Aug 1844 in Leeuwarden, Friesland. In the population register of Leeuwarden the fathers death is registered: 15 Nov 1863, Also that the mother and th e children Marianne, Aron, Jonas, Minke, Dina, Elias, Hester and Clara left for London on 24 May 1870 (www.allefriezen.nl). In the 1871 Census (Piece 523 Folio 100 Page 10) all of them are living in Tenter Street, Whitechapel. Marian, 25 yrs old , is a buttonhole maker, as she was in 1881.
Her age in every census from 1881 onwards points at birth year 1850 or 1851. There is no birth in Leeuwarden matching that. Being so much older than her husband she must have adjusted her age. Proof of age wasn't asked for, even not when marrying.
From the 1911 Census: 3 children born alive in the marriage with Michael De Jonge, 3 still living, none died.
