Hans Rodrigues Pereira

Hans was born in 1931 in Haarlem, Holland.  During WWII he was in hiding in Haarlem from 1942 till 1945. After finishing his education at the Port. Isr. Seminarium Ets Haim in Amsterdam, he taught at the Jewish School Community in Amsterdam.

As a volunteer he was involved in the archive work concerning the Portuguese-Israelites graveyard in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, he continues as a voluntary member of Akevoth as a specialist on Dutch Jewish-Portuguese issues.

Hans is interested in the history of the Jewish-Portuguese Noesach in the Synagogue in Amsterdam and in the history of the Portuguese community and its members.
