Born in Rotterdam in 1939 and by miracle survived the concentration camps Ravensbruck and Bergen-Belsen together with her mother and 2 younger sisters while her father also survived the concentration camp Buchenwald. After finishing school in 1958 she went to London for a year where she met a Hungarian boy who lived in Israel and whom she married in 1959 in Holland. They went to Israel straight after. Their 4 children and 15 grandchildren all live in Israel. For 40 years Gisela and her husband owned a ladies fashion shop in Jerusalem in the center of town. Today Gisela volunteers for Jad-Sara where she fulfills the function of director of the medical-equipment department in the Hadassa hospital in Ein-Karem. For Akevoth she started to volunteer about 6 years ago and is now also one of its two webmasters.
